So Blessed

Friday and Yesterday (Saturday) was my fundraising yard sale for my mission trip to Africa. God really worked some magic. I met my money goal plus some. Friday morning was very dreary with some drizzle mixed in, but it ended up very nice and busy. Saturday was beautiful and a little warm. I had some great supporters come out and also help. I am so thankful everything went smoothly. Below are some pictures from the sale. Thank you to all who supported and gave me donations.

These are the clothes tables. There were a TON of clothes!!!!

These are a few of the toys. I was given a good mix of toys.

I think we had every Disney movie made, plus some!

God is so Funny!

So tonight I went to a church event for college-age young adults. I was talking with my campus pastor about an upcoming event at my work he was invited to when he told me I should sign up for the raffle they were doing tonight. I brushed it off cause I NEVER win anything! Well before we went in for the service I decided to sign up (don't know why :). Well we went in for service and worship and I told God well if I win it, it will go in my "AFRICA" fund. (I never thought I would win!!!) So I forgot about it, and the service went on. Well while exiting the sanctuary I hear my name. It was my campus pastor. He said you won, and I said won what? He said the raffle. I was dumbfounded cause like I said before I NEVER WIN ANYTHING! So God showed me his humorous side tonight. I won $160 for my Africa fund. Thank you Jesus, and you made me laugh :)

Waiting......

I am so excited for Africa! I have signed up, gotten my passport, fundraised and now I feel like it is a waiting game. Once I gave God my yes, I have been ready to leave. I know 3 1/2 months will fly by in no time, but I still got ants in my pants. God was preparing my heart a long time before I realized what He was doing. Another blessing......I didn't know anyone going on this trip until the other night when I was doing a web conference meeting. Below the video there was a chat box and our leader asked us all to tell where we are from. Just so happens there is a girl 20 minutes from me. She is a couple years older but has a heart for adoption. She actually works with an adoption agency. What a coincidence! She also has been before so this isn't new to her. I am so thankful to know someone now. Thank you God for thinking of EVERYTHING! Every little detail. I pray these next couple months go smoothly, and quickly!

Also stay tuned in for more updates. This coming up weekend I am having a fundraising yard sale. I will post pics soon. Our house is being over taken! I don't know how much more dad can take :)

Broken Hearted

Tonight my heart breaks. My heart breaks for the orphaned and unloved. I want my arms to expand and wrap them into a loving embrace like our Father does, but I know HE is taking care of that. My heart hurts for the ones that will never know the love of a mom or dad or a family. I thank you Lord for the ones  that have experienced that kind of love, but I pray for those who don't. My heart and passion is for these precious children of God. I can't imagine not having my family and I pray God uses me to love any and every child possible. My arms are open to you God and I pray you use me for your work. I pray anytime, anywhere, everywhere, whenever, wherever Lord! Use me! I am your vessel and I am willing, nervous but willing.

There is no reason why these children shouldn't have homes already. We as followers of Jesus Christ have fallen short of our job here on earth. God has called ALL , A-L-L! of us to take care of the orphans and the widows. That means EVERYONE!!!!! NO IFS, ANDS, or BUTS. Now don't get me wrong I understand not all are called to adopt but taking care of doesn't always mean adopt it means exactly what it says, take care of! SUPPORT, PRAY FOR, LOVE ON, SEND MONEY, ADOPT, whatever the Lord places on your heart. Be obedient!

Here is a quote I read today:
We are not all called to adopt these children into our families, but we are all called to look at them, even if it makes our eyes burn and be willing to let their needs disrupt our lives!

So I have a friend.......

I have recently been blessed to meet a wonderful lady, lets call her B. She is the lady who introduced me to Heart for Africa and who has helped me walk through this new journey(my mission trip). I have seen how God has intertwined our lives. I continue to  marvel at how cool God is and how He has everything taken care of. So anyways I have a prayer request. My friend B and her family have recently entered into the adoption world. God has guided them to a cute little boy across the big lake. There is a "hiccup" though. I totally believe God is taking care of him and taken care of this issue but we need to come in agreement that God will take care of him and B's family. He is all powerful and can totally take care of this but I ask for your prayers. I ask that you will pray for wisdom to all involved and discernment. I know I didn't give alot of info but it's not cause I don't want to, it's because I can't. Even so please pray. Thank you for you support in what I am doing and thank you for praying for B!

Answered Questions!

So I have gotten alot of questions lately about my mission trip. For those of you that don't know I am going to Swaziland, Africa this summer. I am going with an incredible organization who has a true passion for these people. The name of this project is called "Project Canaan". It's a 2500 acre farm that the Lord has blessed Heart for Africa with. This farm will be a self-sustaining farm that will include homes for orphaned and abandoned children, crops, livestock, and much more. The Lord continues to bless His people and I am so thrilled to be able to be a small part of it. Please join me in prayer as God continues to lead me where He wants me, and pray for these people I am going to serve.

I am a Disciple

This morning at church my pastor (Andy Stanley) gave a sermon on the label "Christian". From the time I went in to the time I left my whole view point changed. He talked about how the "Jesus followers" referred to themselves as Disciples not Christians. The pagans were the ones to come up with the label Christian. It was a derogatory word. Now don't get me wrong Christian is a very powerful word, but everyone's definition is different. The word Christian is only referred to 3 times in the new testament, but the word disciple is said countless times. Jesus called his people disciples. How powerful is that!!!! The world's view of Christian is a person who claims to be a follower  of Christ, but to be referred to as a disciple is an honor. Below is the link to the sermon:
